Management of Excess Soils

The Government of Ontario has finalized new regulations regarding the management of excess soils under the Environmental Protection Act with sections to be phased-in over a five-year period. Effective July 1, 2020, Phase One (Phase I) will be implemented. This phase includes added flexibility relating to permit requirements for excess soil haulage, temporary storage, and processing. Additionally, further requirements associated with sampling, tracking, and public registry of soil movement and final placement will come into effect by January 2022, however some current projects have been granted early flexibility.

At ASC Environmental we offer soil management plans to help you plan how to manage your soils.
